I faced the problem on one of my VPS that leaded to the situation when the system kills ClamAv daemon that allocated all the memory during update. The server has only 4Gb of RAM and I didn't want to increase it as this will increase the payment for this server. Keeping in mind that except of this problem with ClamAv everything works fine I decided to fix this by adding the swap so the system can use it during ClamAv update.
Few days ago I ordered new headset with USB connection, to avoid noises that I had with the regular headset. Usually, I work on my LAN connection, but to use a printer I need to jump to a Wi-Fi connection. This is needed because the printer is connected to the other network and I can't reach this network from my LAN. I prepared two simple bash scripts and saved it in the directory that included in the environment PATH variable, so I could call these two scripts from anywhere. What's the day! I just found another life-changer life hack. When you copy something styled and then paste this to some WYSIWYG editors it copies the styles as well. This styling usually is not needed, so you need to paste this text to Notepad first and then copy it once again before pasting to clear the styles or use the context menu and select "Paste as plain text", that is also not so comfortable as just pressing Ctrl+V. Today, I googled how to turn on "Paste as plain text" by default in Firefox and found that most of the OS supports hotkey for this, and it's "Shift+Ctrl+V". Omg, I suffered for years, but it turned out to be so simple.
I have owned a Logitech C310 web camera for many years, and it covers all my needs. The only annoying thing is that when I need to talk with someone in the evening with room lighting and a cheap circle lamp, it makes the image reddish. Довольно долго не мог разобраться почему иногда при скроле мышкой, вставляется текст из буфера обмена. Тк не так давно перешел на беспроводную клавиатуру и мышку, то думал, что возможно у меня проблемы именно с настройкой новых девайсов. Оказалось, что это не проблема устройств ввода, а очередное "гениальное" изобретение в Ubuntu. А именно вставка из буфера по клику средней кнопки. Т.е. в моем случае, во время активного скролла, иногда происходит клик и соответсвенно вставка из буфера.
Уже очень давно я перебрался на Linux, а именно на Kubuntu (сборку KDE+Ubuntu). Теперь именно тут мне все привычнее и удобнее. Однако, для ряда девайсов все равно иногда нужна винда, тк именно под нее производители максимально затачивают свой софт.
